Lindsay stopped at DFW airport to give her kitty to her Aunt Nana. We went to visit her for a short time and she was a little surprised. Well our black kitty Shadow died last Saturday. She had diabetes and required to shots a day of insulin. She had been part of our family for over 10 years. Teresa had her cremated this past week. Our other cat Cinnamon acted a little weird at first then quickly found out she had all of the attention now and seems to love it. We will miss our Shadow but I am glad she is in no more pain.

Amy and I (Paw Paw) went skiing while we were in Utah at the Brighton Ski resort. I guess you call it skiing because that was only my second time to go skiiing. The first time I went was when I was 18 years old. A long long time ago. Amy is a good snowboarder. She took skiing in college. A few days later Teresa, Amy, Lauren and I went to Snowbird ski resort to ride the tram up the mountain. It was 10 degrees up at the top with a wind chill factor of -10 degrees. We had to come down as soon as we could because little Lauren started crying because it was too cold for her.

Lucas Meets the Cousins Six

I’m on my way to Utah, Utah USA,
To see a baby that’s brand new, brand new to us, I say.
He’s been spending time with Great Granny, Pawpaw Willis and Grandma Thayer,
I know he loved his home he left because Heavenly Father was there.

He even had a chance to visit with Uncles Matt and Joe,
But he left Heaven early because he just had to go.
Why did he have to leave so fast and get out of there and go?
Well there’s been some speculation but we really, for sure, don’t know.

Some think he wanted to see his Mommy,
Some think he wanted to see his Dad,
Some even think it was Geoffrey,
That he wanted to see so bad.

There are other ideas on this matter,
There are sweet cousins to meet, I know.
But I believe he wanted to see Jakob, Izey
Miah, Aidan, Lauren and Ko.

Why would he want to see those ones?
Why would you even ask?
Well those six are the greatest six,
And to top them would be a GREAT task!!

Maybe they’re GREAT because I say so,
Maybe they’re GREAT because they just are.
Or maybe they’re GREAT cause they are six,
And the “GREAT” is multiplied more, by far.

That’s not the important matter here,
What’s important is each of the six
Is very special in their own way,
So listen as I tell why that is.

Take Jakob Lowe for instance,
His heart is made of gold.
He loves everyone, yes, everyone,
Well at least that’s what I’m told.

Who would say that about Jakob Lowe?
Well lots of people I am sure.
There’s Paw Paw and Pops and they think he’s tops,
So they can’t be wrong….for sure.

Yes, his heart is gold but my Jakob Lowe,
Is really a tough little marine.
He shoots at my bunnies along with his dad,
But don’t get me wrong…he’s not mean.

Because he gets upset when the bunnies, he misses,
And he gets upset when the bunnies, he hits.
I get upset when they shoot at my bunnies,
But I still love them both to bits.

Now Miah is my “scramich” boy,
And likes to help Maw Maw a lot.
He makes cookies and cakes and with Maw Maw, he bakes,
But liking to swim, he does not!

He likes cars and trucks and….aw shucks!
He’s just a little bit shy.
But he is sweet and for Lucas to meet
Him is going to be fun….no lie.

That Miah of mine is so very cute,
He’s cute as he can be.
His Maw Maw loves him and he loves her,
And that is obvious to see.

Little Izey is new himself,
Well he was just born in June.
So that makes him only 8 months old,
And to think Lucas will see him soon.

Izey can say dadadadada Dad,
And squish up his face as he tries.
It just makes you laugh at the sight of that babe,
And you will laugh until you cry.

This little “berry” crawls with only his arms,
Just like a real marine.
He likes to sit and quietly play,
And is too sweet to ever be mean.

We all love him so and we are glad he is here,
And his laugh just makes you smile.
You will say to yourself, “Hey self,
We haven’t smiled like this in awhile.”

Now my sweet little Aidan is a joy to behold,
He has more energy than all of us do.
He will rise with the sun, stay up till he’s done,
And go all the way till he’s through.

We all know when Aidan is ready to run,
He gets ready by bowing his head.
He looks up with his eyes, gets ready to burn,
Then he’s off and leaves behind tread.

I love my Aidan and he almost loves me,
But his Paw Paw he loves a ton,
He’s working on goals, his “timeout” you see,
Because, from his life, he’s wanting more fun.

My Lauren is princess “Rella”
And you are her “best friend”
If you’ve got something that she really wants,
She’ll beg “pweeez” till you give in.

She tilts her head and gives you a smile,
To ensure that she lures you in.
Then you’ll give her the thing that she desperately wants,
And not even know why you did.

I love her so and she really likes pink,
She tells you this each chance she gets.
She is Little Miss Organized,
When things get out of order, she frets.

The last but not least person Lucas will meet,
Is Kora Olivia Lowe.
Yes, she can be a precious little girl,
Or a wild and woolly foe.

Her job is to “crack the eggs” when we’re cooking,
And she works the mixer when we bake.
But I love how she can defend herself,
Like when she took a golf club to her brother, Jake.

Another fun thing about Jakob and Miah,
And Kora Olivia Lowe.
They like to go fishing with Paw Paw so much,
They keep asking. “when are we going to go?”

I’m not really sure who likes it more,
Either Paw Paw or those little three.
But what does it matter, does it matter at all?
As long as they’re together, you see.

So Lucas, get ready and get set and go,
It’s time to meet The Six.
And goodness knows what that will bring,
But I know they will teach you some tricks.

Lucas, my precious, you will fish too,
And “crack eggs” and some cakes you will bake.
Just leave the golf clubs alone unless used to golf,
And don’t touch the head of my Jake.

Oh those cousins of six have so many tricks,
They will tutor you till you are schooled.
Then with one little “pweeez”, you’ll melt all hearts with ease,
We’ll surrender and not even know we were fooled.

Well Lucas, I thought I was finished,
The poem had come to an end.
But then I remembered one item,
And needed to fit it in.

You are our only baby,
Who was born in another state.
The rest were all born in Texas,
But that doesn’t mean you don’t rate.

I needed a baby born in the mountains,
Because mountains are my favorite thing.
They make me smile, they cheer me up,
They make me laugh and sing.

So you are the “mountain baby,”
And we obviously love you so.
But this poem just keeps getting longer,
It’s been fun…we’re here now…gotta go.

Well today baby Lucas decided to pop out. Lindsay and Enos had their little Lucas decide to join the family today. His weight 7 lbs 2 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Born at 7:55 am Utah time. Teresa and I will be there shortly. Amy and Lauren will be joining us also. They are flying. We can't wait to see this Lucas man and hold him. He has already been asking where is his Paw Paw according to Lindsay.

We all went fishing on Christmas Eve

As soon as the Lowe grandkids got here from North Carolina they just kept talking about how much fun it was to go fishing and every day they would ask can we go fishing today. So I got some worms and on Christmas Eve it was so pretty outside we all got on the 4 wheeler and went fishing. Kora caught three fish before any of us even had a bite. Jakob caught 5 fish and Miah went blank but he had so much fun it didn't matter to him. Kora ended up catching a total of 6. They caught perch, bass, and catfish. Yes I went blank like Miah but I spent most of my time putting on worms, untangling lines, taking pictures, and unhooking fish. What fun!!!!!!

Our hotel surprise

Well after a long day driving from Rockwall to Monticello Utah we arrive at our hotel and had a surprise. They had messed up our reservation and said they were going to give us their honey moon suite. I ask her what the difference was and she just smiled and said it had a king size bed in it and was a little more roomy. She made no mention of the heart shaped marble bath tub in the center of the room with the fake flowers around it. This is me now talking (/teresa) because David cannot fully explain MY feelings when I saw the heartshaped bathtub you are now looking at. First of all my cousin Cindy Peyronet would say that it was an orange red and NOT a blue red tub. That is unappealing in itself. Second of all, if my husband took me to the Rodeway INN in Monticello, UT for our honeymoon well that would be the end of that marriage. Sorry. This bathtub was smack dab in the middle of the living room and very cheesy. It felt wrong and no where near the atmosphere one would expect in a honeymoon suite. Gag me!! Don't get me wrong...I love Monticello , UT. It is a cute little town but this bathtub has got to go.

Teresa got released

Well most of you know that Teresa has been Young Womens President in our Rockwall Ward for the last two years and has loved every minute of it. A few Sundays ago she was released and it made her sad. Some of the Laurel's came over Sunday night to tell Teresa they miss her and love her. You can't tell in the picture but they have spelled GEORGE on their faces. They also made her a large card and wrote sweet things to her. Way to go Teresa.

35th Wedding Anniversary

Well we have done it. On August 24th Teresa and celebrated our 35th year of being married. I know in today's world that is quite an accomplishment. Thanks Teresa for putting up with me for 35 years. If you can see them all there are 35 blossoms in the flower arrangement. I did something kind of silly because Teresa had to work on our anniversary. My Grandson Jakob had wrote kick me on a sticky pad and stuck it on my back sometime back. I found it and added kick me because I have been married to the same man for 35 years. I put this on Teresa's back and she went to work with it on her back. For some reason none of her co-workers saw it and she went to wait on a family and they found it and told her about it. She was quite embarrassed because the couple she was waiting on had just divorced. My bad. I always mess things up. Oh well. Just trying to have some fun. Yes we still Love each other. I left out that very important part.

We are swimming

The pool is finished and we went swimming yesterday. We still have the cabana to build and our fence is just put up temporarily but we are swimming. Lauren and Aidan are staying with us right now while Amy and David are in Vegas and we all went swimming last night. It really looks cool at night but I could not get a good picture of it.
It is so neat to sit in the grotto with the waterfall overhead. Its like hiding in your own little cave. Yes those are flipflops in the floor of the tanning bed along with a baby sea turtle.

Well we had to go fishing one more time before they all move away. It was great again with Kora and Jakob catching 5 each. Then Miah wanted to give it a try and he catch his first fish ever. He was so excited. We rebaited his hook and he caught another one. Kora helped him get it off his hook. Way to go Miah.

Another update on pool

Well they have finished the grotto, tile, and are ready for the decking to be poured. Notice the big palm tree. I found it on Craigslist list and we picked it up from Fort Worth. It is 15 years old and nine feet tall. The water slide also has arrived. It is called the Turbo Twister. Looks like it will be fun. It will placed behind the grotto.

Another Good Fishing day

Well the kids wanted to go fishing again in the pond behind our house so off we went. They caught around 15 fish total and here are some of the little catfish they caught. Both Jakob and Kora caught their catfish without any bait. It was blast. When were first arrived there was this big frog sitting on the edge.

Ok I told the family that I would show pictures of the construction of our new pool so here I go with the first pictures. I took these pictures from our upstairs deck. It is a 16X33 size pool with a slide and grotto. The cut out in the middle of the pool is where the grotto will be. A grotto is a waterfall with a cave underneath with a bench to sit down on. Looks like this.Here are some of the first pictures of our hole in the ground. I will keep posting pictures as they move along.

A little bit of paradise

Well I have always wanted a pond in my back yard so I just did it. Kora, Jakob, and Paw Paw worked all day Saturday and made our pond. I had dug the main hole the over day so we did all the rest in one hot day. It was so fun we didn't even feel the heat.

Here is the final pond with all of our hard work done. The pond has a filter and UV lamp to keep the pond from turning green. Kora and Paw Paw went to buy the fish at 10:00pm Saturday night at Walmart. We just could not wait. We put around 30 gold fish that can grow up to 12-16" long. I used about 1 ton of the flat rock to put around it and for sidewalk. I also used about a 1/2 ton of square rocks to form the wall around the upper pond. Jakob, Kora, and I caught a baby frog today and put him in the pond. I was really a blast and makes the back yard feel so cozy with the waterfall.

Our famous Daughter made the news. As most of you know Jessica took donations from all the family and bought toys for the kids at Childrens Hospital. It has taken me a while to post this video because I only had it on a vhs tape and had to figure out a way to copy it so I could post it. I just played it on our TV and recorded it with our camera so that is why it is a little bad looking and sounding. O well it was the best I could do.

I just had to leave the last part about the most popular names because we have both a Jakob and a Aidan.

Rowlett police say a married woman who was having an online affair wanted her husband dead.
So she had her mother shoot him in the back of the head after serving him a slice of cake, Rowlett police spokesman John Ellison said.
Robin Handel, 44, of Rockwall was arrested Thursday on a charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the Nov. 30 shooting of her husband, Stephen Handel, Mr. Ellison said.
"The investigation pointed to [Ms. Handel] having some type of online relationship with an unknown person," Mr. Ellison said. "The investigation doesn't show that this individual is involved at this time."
Mr. Handel, 38, survived the shooting at the Dalrock Meadows Mobile Home Park in the 8700 block of Lakeview Parkway. The bullet was fired from a small-caliber gun and apparently didn't penetrate his skull, police said.

After the shooting, Ms. Handel's 71-year-old mother, Janelle Thompson, barricaded herself in her home for about 90 minutes. When she came out, police noticed she had shot herself twice in the chest.

Ms. Thompson underwent surgery and was arrested the day after the shooting on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Mr. Ellison said. She was being held at the Dallas County Jail on Thursday night in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Ms. Handel was being held at the Rowlett Jail, where her bail information was not available.

I don't want to mess with the mom or daughter. The mom looks really scary.

Christmas Divorce

A man in Phoenix calls his son in New York two days before Christmas and says,"I hate to ruin your holiday, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough. "Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams. We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the father says. "We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Chicago and tell her." Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like heck they're getting divorced," she shouts, "I'll take care of this," She calls Phoenix immediately, and screams at her father, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up. The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. "Okay," he says, "they're coming for Christmas and paying their own way."

Now Teresa and I know how to get our family home for Christmas.

Older woman shoots son-in-law in back of head

Some of you know that I own the mobile home park behind my office called Dal-Rock Meadows. Last Saturday night I received a phone call from the Rowlett Police and they wanted me to come to the park and talk to them immediately. When I got there they told me that the lady in lot 21 had just shot her son-in-law in the back of the head and was still in the mobile home and would not answer any police calls. They ask me to draw them a diagram of the inside of the mobile home so they could figure out had they were going to take her down. There were machine guns and police everywhere. After about 90mins the lady came out of her mobile home and fell down on her front porch. She had shot herself in the chest. She had shot herself and son-in-law with a 22 caliber pistol that is why they both survived. Go to the link below and read and listen to the 911 call and watch the news video. What a crazy world we live in. The older woman's daughter had just told her that her husband was leaving her.

Jessica's wreck

You may have noticed that Jessica has not posted anything on her blog the last few days which is unlike her. Well she has a good reason as you can see by the pictures. She was coming home from one of her parties Saturday and a lady hit her in the rear going about 40-50 miles per hour. The lady did not even hit her brakes. The lady said she was looking down and was just not paying attention. Jessica was hit so hard that she was knocked into two other cars in front of her. Jessica went to the hospital to be checked out and she seems ok. She is sore all over her body and has a big bump on her left leg from hitting the dash. There was a off duty policeman who saw the whole accident. The lady was very upset and crying. She really got upset when she found out Jessica was pregnant. I am sure Jessica will tell you more when see starts feeling better.

but when drenched on that knee it is oh! so enticing.

Now you may not go for the potted feet or blackened jack,

I have one last suggestion...how about Polar Bear Crack?

Polar Bear Crack is so sweet and quite smooth,

A lot of us eat it because of our sweet tooth.

You may prefer meat to any sweet thing we know,

So how about Hedgehog Pits to fill the void in your toe.

If eaten correctly, it goes straight to the toe and there it will stay

till the toe is so so.

I have eaten it often and enjoyed it a lot,

but just do not eat it if you are real hot.

It is not for the summer or spring for that matter,

If eaten when hot the stuff sticks to you bladder.

This causes a reaction that is hard to believe,

but the bladder will continute to relieve and relieve,

Then people will make fun of YOU as you "go"

because then you will be causing all the yellow in the snow.

Blue Betta

OK I am posting this for Sheriece because she just bought a betta fish. I really like the betta just setting on my desk and swimming around. So easy to take care of. No special pumps or water treatment except to remove the chlorine and replace water about once a week. They only cost around $3.00 at Walmart. I think I spent around $15.00 total for everything.

We were all just bored and decided to go fishing behind our house. There is this little pond back there and we just dug up some worms and made a homemade fishing pole. It was so fun!!!! Everyone caught fish. Jakob caught the first one a baby perch. Then Kora was next also catching a baby perch. PaPa was next catching a five pound catfish. Austin came later catching a massive fish.

Kora caught this seven pound catfish and it almost pulled her in the water but PaPa caught Kora
and saved her.

I will try and list a few things that most people do not know about me but my wife knows it all.

Secret 1

First everyone knows I am a big Dallas Mavericks fan. I just totally love basketball. I love to watch it and play it. One thing you may not know about me is that I never touched a basketball until I was around 19 years old. Scott Pierce introduced me to basketball in his driveway. He was patience with me and taught me a lot of things about the game. Scott played high school and college basketball and was very good. He showed me that you didn't need to be tall to play good basketball. He was an excellent point guard and could drive to the basket against the best of them. Thank you Scott for teaching me a game that has changed my life. It gave me the confidence that I needed in life to succeed. My secret is that I always wished I had been able to play some level of school basketball. Not that I think I could have but I sure would have loved to try. It is kinda sad but now I can only play basketball about once every two weeks because my knees hurt to much and require time to heal. What also is sad is we now have a new Stake building only seven minutes from our house with a full wood floor court (I have been playing on a small carpet gym at church for 15 years) and I am not sure I can even enjoy it very much for obvious reasons.

Secret 2
You all know that we have three beautiful daughters. What you may not know is that I wanted each one to be a boy. Well I didn't get my wish but I did get three great son-in-laws and now have three wonderful grandsons. Thank you Daughters for bringing me these sons.

Secret 3

I have never smoked a cigarette but when I was 15 I did puff on a cigar once and decided it was just a stupid thing to do.

Secret 4

Some people may already know this but I will just post it anyway. My favorite book is The Richest Man in Babylon. When I was around 25 I was in an Elders Quorum meeting and they were discussing that we need to be debt free and learn how to save money. The teacher passed out a copy of a chapter from The Richest Man in Babylon and it changed my whole outlook on life. I would encourage everyone to read this book and apply its principles and if they do they cannot help but to be successful. To put it in a nutshell the book teaches us that we must pay ourselves 10% each year and let that 10% grow and grow making wise investments and never take it out for pleasure needs. Any success I have had comes from this little practice.

I only must say this because my wife has crushes on George Srait and Johnny Depp.

I am a fan of Keira Knightley.

Secret 6

I know I was only suppose to post five secrets but I had to do one more. I have always wanted to get to know my sister better but it seemed like she would never let me get to really know her. I now feel like I know my sister and I am so excited about this. She is such a great sister. Thanks Sister for your Love and support. I am a better person because of you.

This is Teresa and it took me 20 minutes to get to this point so that I could post on my blog. This is the most irritating thing for me but my darling daughter, Lindsay, "tagged" me and I must play. It is not that I mind "playing" but I am so technically challenged that I get mad when it is not simple to do. Huh um.....here I go. I am supposed to tell you 6 things that are secret, no one knows, etc, etc. Hmmmm and then I tag someone and they must go through the h....I mean trouble that I went through. Actually, I am quite honored to be a tagee. Thank you Pooh. I now I must go get a cupcake and then proceed with the test........I am back and are you asking why I am eating a cupcake at 10:40PM, well, if for no other reason than because Young Womens in Excellence is over for another year and I deserve this cupcake. Now my six things..... 1) I secretly lust after Johnny Depp...sorry David that you had to find out this way! 2) I have never even tried a single drug item AT ALL which in itself is a miracle since I was a teenager during the 70's and dated several guys (as a teenager) that were always doing drugs. One even went to prison for doing drugs and one even died from doing drugs. 3) My cousin, Cindy, did coax me into smoking a cigarette at the age of 14. We were in my back yard. That was my first and last ever. I did not like it. 4) Some of you may know this. I just cannot remember if I told anyone. When I was 16, I attended high school one day with my friend, Debbie Sorensen. Our school was out that day and so I went to school with her. My mom always made me wear my dresses too long, in my opinion. So I hemmed up the dress the night before school the next day and wore the dress the length I WANTED. I had planned to let the hem down before mother picked me up from Debbie's BUT when she and I arrived home from school she was waiting for me and saw me walk up in my "short" dress. I got in a lot of trouble for that. And 5) I secretly lust after Johnny......oh yeah...I already said that....let's see....ummmmm! I have such a normal not very juicy life. I was actually supposed to have 4 children and Nancy Pierce was going to have 3. She ended up having a 4th child and I stopped at 3 so secretly Cassie is my daughter. Just ask Nancy.

There you have it. That was "mama fore she was mama." Not much dirt there, though, huh?

Well we didn't realize that this was going to be a daily adventure but we will give it our best try. We are really boring people just enjoying our family and watching our Daughters grow up and have wonderful families. It is really fun to watch our Daughters work and grow up. They all have made us two very proud in all that they have accomplished. These grandchildren make being old fun and keep us on our toes. So fun to have the Lowes staying with us even if it is for a short time. We will try our best to keep posting comments and we thank you for your comments.
